Chocolate Pate !
With Valentine's Day around the corner I felt that it would be prudent to offer one of my favorite chocolate recipes ...... but which one to choose! Truffles, Dipped Strawberries ? No ! Chocolate Pate !!! What else can you say but YUM !!!!!
2 cup cream
1 lb dark chocolate
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup confectioner's sugar
1 Tbl vanilla
In a Ban Marie or in your microwave melt 1/2 cup of the cream and the chocolate. Stir in the corn syrup and the butter until the mixture is smooth. Beat the remaining 1 1/2 cups of the cream unitil stiff peaks form. Add the vanilla and powdered sugar. Fold the cream mixture into the chocolate and stir until smooth. Spread this tantalizing mixture into a loaf pan the you have buttered and have shaken cocoa into to coat the pan. Chill overnight. Release on to a gleeming silber tray that you have lined with leaves. Serve to rounds of applause! When you slice this item that should be illegal add some Raspberry sauce over the top and also some cinnamon/chocolate whipped cream. Deluxe !
NOTE: Add a layer of Ganache to this loaf before you slice it for added decadence! A tumble of split raw pistacios ass festive color if serving at the holidays !!!!!
